Síntesis
underscores as one of the most revered and famous popular groups
within the current sonorous panorama of the Cuban music.
This name band holds a unique style of integration of ancestral
and contemporary sources and Cuban popular music, entwining African
antecedents with creative procedures from jazz, pop and rock styles
of international music.
Its director, Juan Carlos Alfonso is a pioneer in the development
of Spanish rock
in Cuba, taking from Afro Cuban rock streams to masterfully soak
them with prays and lucumíes-yorubá chants.
The group has shared scenes and various remarkable works with such
outstanding musicians as Chucho
Valdés, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Tata Guines,
Amaury
Pérez, Pablo Milanés,
Ray Barreto, Wynton Marsalis, Arturo Sandoval , Maceo Parker, Khaled,
Fito Páez, Juan Carlos Baglieto, Mauro Paganni, Irakere,
Maldita Vecindad, Los Van Van, Tris Imboden, Jimmy Earl, Montell
Jordan, Mi Shell Nge Ocello, Stuart Copeland , Asia Dub Fondation
and many others.
Síntesis has taken its music to different countries, citing:
England, Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Holland,
Finland, Eastern Europe, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Venezuela, Costa
Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Puerto Rico, EUA, etc.
