Núñez Hernández
Havana, Cuba, November 27, 1964. Pianist, composer. He began to
study music at the age of 17 and then went to the Arts University
to study piano. While he was still a student he starts to become
known as an interpreter of jazz, Cuban popular music and classical
music being the latest, the most important in his formation as an
artist. He participates in contemporary music, piano, choir and
other festivals.
He begins to play jazz and specifically his own compositions that
show the progress achieved by the musician. He takes part in drama,
films and TV productions and plays on stage with musicians such
as Leo Brouwer, José María Vitier and Chucho Valdés.
Nuñez is widely recognized by his musical talent. He has
taken part in several recordings and concerts with artists such
as Milton Nascimento, Fito Páez, Luis Represas, Víctor
Manuel, Ana Belén, Ricardo Arjona, Mercedes Sosa, Ketama,
Carlos Varela, Chucho Valdés, Joaquín Sabina, among
others and not only as an interpreter but also as arranger, director
and producer.
Since 1988 he has been a member of Pablo Milanes band (Musical
Director, arranger, choirs, pianist and keyboard player) and at
the same time the Musical Producer in various recordings of this
renowned songwriter and singer.
Parallel to his work with Milanes band, he founds Miguels
Trio, characterized by the fusion of jazz and Caribbean rhythms.
