Pioneer
of electroacoustic music in Cuba. He was graduated from the Municipal
Music Conservatoire of Havana with a degree in composition. Around
1987, he entered the course ''Processeur Numerique de Signaux DMX
1000 offered by GMBE from Bourges, France. In 1961, he began to work
with electroacoustic techniques.
To date he has produced more than 200 works, including compositions
for choral groups, electroacoustic and computer music, multimedia
spectacles, plus different cycles of works.
He has created musical atmosphere for audio-visual exhibitions,
outdoor music for rural and urban areas having multiple tracks exploring
spacial aspects and indoor musical atmosphere for public spaces,
hospitals and hotels.
He is General Director of National Laboratory of Electroacoustic
Music in Cuba, President of Cuban National Federation of Electroacoustic
Music (CIME/UNESCO), Vice President of Cuban Section from International
Council of Music of UNESCO.
He has been jury member of International Electroacoustic Music Contest
of GEMB, Bourge, France and President of all International festivals
of Electroacoustic Music Primavera of Varadero and Primavera en
La Habana.
He was conferred Felix Varela Order
and the 2002 National
Prize of Music .
