Iván del Prado (Holguín, 1969)
Director
of the Great Theater of Havana. Until February of 2003, he was director of National Symphonic Orchestra, performing at more
than two hundred concerts, numerous national and foreing tours plus
diverse recordings of symphonic, chamber and movie music.
He was the first director interpreting in concert the Nine Symphonies
of Bethoveen, making also the first national and foreign auditions.
His repertoire is including all periods of music and his lyric work
holds more than ten titles interpreted at the head of Rodrigo Prats
Lyric Theater, National Opera of Cuba and Pro-Lyric Association
of Peru.
Ballet has taken to him to conduct remarkable companies such as
National Ballet of Cuba and Ballet from State Opera of Berlin, institutions
which have accompanied him around various Unites States, China and
Spain tours. In this field his work underscores together with such
luminaries as Alicia Alonso and Daniel Barenboid. He has conducted
important symphonic groups such as StaatKapelle Berlín, Germany;
Orchestra of Community, Spain; Kennedy Center Symphonic Orchestra
and Ocean Pacific Symphonic Orchestra, United States.
In 2003, Master Iván del Prado was Musical Director of international
Festival of Piano, celebrated in Islas Canarias, Spain. He has been
guest director of important orchestras citing:

-Kennedy Center Symphony Orchestra, USA.
-Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Spain.
-Symphonic Orchestra of Community of Madrid, Spain.

-Symphonic Orchestra of Shanghai Radio and TV, China.
-Orchestra of National Opera of Cuba.
