Leader
of ¨Dayron y su Boom¨musical band. Vocalist, composer and
choreographer. Graduated on 1992 as honored student and winner of
Best Male Performance Prize at National School of Musical Spectacles
(ENEM), where he studied dancing and achieved complementary studies
of solfeo, singing, piano, guitar, percussion and art assessment in
general.
Being member from numerous pop bands citing ¨Chicos de Fuego¨
and ¨Chikhola¨, he made his bow in professional life as singer,
choreographer and composer of the famous ¨Mayohuacán¨
group, integrating also ¨ Tony Cortés y su BM-Expreso¨
and the traditional orchestra ¨Elio Revé y su Charangón¨,
touring with them around various European and Latin American countries.
On January 11, 2001, Dayron founded his own group "Dayron
y el Boom", integrated by young musicians coming from art schools.
2002 announced his first CD, "Mi tumbao", via EGREM record
label having great national and international acceptance. This CD
is featuring 10 tracks, 8 of his own authorship and other 2 composed
with one of his singers` collaboration. Dayron is tackling here
various genres: salsa, cha, cha, chá and pop/ballad. His
themes are faithful defenders of our current Cuban music, fusioned
with other Caribbean rhythms. This CD allowed him to participate
at 2003 Cubadisco Festival, gaining the critic and public appraisal.
His themes ¨ Chokolo¨ and ¨Con lo que hay¨, are
peaking the top at national popularity charts.
He holds a strong presence in national TV musical programs, for
which he has composed various themes, singing and dancing with his
orchestra and a dancing team from Cuban TV.
From his live performances, we can appreciate an exquisite choreographic
work, transforming his orchestra in a real ¨orchestra-show¨,
holding expressive energy and vitality.
