Alfredo Muñoz
Havana, Cuba June 20th, 1949. Violinist.
He began to study music at Marta Abreu Institute going from the Arts
National School, to the Amadeo Roldan Conservatoire and finally to
the Arts University. Guillermo Portela, Emulio Hospital and Radosvet
Boiadjiev were some of his professors. He also received master classes
from Professor Irina Bashkova in 1976. Since 1987, he became a member
of National Symphony Orchestra and the National Concert Music Center.
He has played as a soloist with Camagüeys, Matanzas
and Orientes Symphony Orchestras, with Cubas National
Symphony Orchestra and Ecuadors National Symphony Orchestra
with Brindis de Sala and Música Eterna Chamber Orchestras,
with Matanzas and Camagüeys Chamber Orchestras, with
the Philharmonic orchestras of Bogota (Colombia) and Lublin (Poland)
and the Northern Bohemian Chamber Orchestra (Czechoslovakia).
He has also played with remarkable orchestral directors highlighting
Manuel Duchesne Cuzán (Cuba), Guido López Gavilán
(Cuba), Gonzalo Romeu (Cuba), James Frazer (USA), Marek Pijarewski
(Poland), Libor Pecek (Czechoslovakia), Ricardo del Carmeu (Guatemala),
Tomas Balheritz (Hungary).
As a soloist and member of Trio White has offered several concerts
at the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and Slaneikov Sofía (Bulgaria)
Halls, Novosibirsk Theater (Russia), Sans Sausci Potsdam Castle (Poland),
Belles Arts Theater (Mexico), National Arts Center (Mexico), Maestros
Theater (Moscow), Teresa Carreño Theater (Caracas), and the
Archipel Theater, (Guadalupe) in the French Antilles.
He has given masterful classes in Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela,
being also professor at Amadeo Roldán Conservatoire and the
Arts University (ISA).
Muñoz has been awarded with: Polish Culture Merit, 1988 and
a Distinction for his work related to the National Culture, 1997.
