Pianist and composer. He began to study music at "Manuel Saumell" Elementary School with Professor Hortensia Huppman, he continued the next music level at “Amadeo Roldan” school with professor Danae Ulacia. Nowadays he is on a scholarship in London, England. His debut with an orchestra was at the age of 12 with the Matanzas’ Symphony Orchestra.

At the age of 17 made his debut with Cuba’s National Symphony Orchestra, playing Prokofiev’s Third Concert for piano and orchestra. Lopez has been invited by the Cuban jazz player Chucho Valdés to participate in the last Jazz Plaza international festivals, carried out in Havana. López was selected to take part in the Italian documentary “Musical Cities of the World”. He has also carried out several recordings for the Cuban Radio and TV.

He has given concerts in Spain, Santo Domingo, Venezuela, Cuba and England where he had a successful presentation at the Royal Festival Hall in London, as part of the Solidarity with Cuba campaign held in this country. López inaugurated the 2001-Millenium concerts at Casa de las Américas with his own compositions. The jazz and the fusion characterize his interpretation style and his compositions and work qualify him as a concert pianist.

1990 First Prize and Special Prizes for his interpretation of Cuban music and his own compositions at "Amadeo Roldán" Piano Contest.
1994 Prize (junior category) at the UNEAC 1st Piano Contest.
1998 "Danny Kaye" contests in Holland, Italy, organized by UNICEF.
1998 2nd Prize at "Teresa Carreño" Piano Contest in Venezuela.
1999 1st Prize at Trinity College Piano Contest in England.
2000 3rd Prize at a contest held among the English Music Universities.
2000 Jazz, Opera Prima and Grand Prize at Cubadisco, International Record Fair held in Havana.
2000 3rd Prize at the Spanish composers, Piano International Contest, sponsored by SGAE in homage to composer Antón García Abril.
