Fornet. 1932
Remarkable
editor, critic, essayist and script writer of movie. He was born
in Veguitas, Bayamo, October 6, 1932. He published his first essay
in 1953, studying North American Literature at New York University
and Hispanic Culture at Central University in Madrid.
He is currently an outstanding figure from the Cuban editorial
movement, gaining undoubted recognition at National and Hispano
American literary critic. Due to his high level of specialization
in literary and cultural themes he has been jury member at national
and international events.
With motive of his 70 birthday, he received the Distinction
Miembro Emérito of UNEAC. He possesses also Premio
Nacional de Edción 2000, Premio
de la Crítica Literaria, Raúl
Gómez García and Alejo
Carpentier Distinctions.
He is in adittion, member of Cuban Academy of Language and Titular
Associate Professor from Superior Institute of Art. Along many years,
he was part of the UNEAC`s Editorial Council and worked as Assessor
of Cuban Institute of Book. Ambrosio Fornet is having also various
works published in other languages, highlighting his labor as Critic
and Dram teacher.
In 1958 he published his first book of short stories A un paso
del diluvio. He also have another remarkable works, such as
