Rafael
Angel Zarza González, Havana, 1944.
 This
painter recreates in his artwork profound Afro cultural roots from
our idiosyncrasy, raised with a careful treatment of fertile ethnic
differences. He studied painting at San Alejandro Fine Arts Academy,
between 1959 and 1963.
This chore
has enriched and interpreted with personal experiences approaching
his participation as fighter of exploration during international
journey of Cuba in Africa. He could, with this experience, appreciate
in situ material exponents of ethnos spirituality in those lands,
uniting them closely to his form of expression, especially in his
masks.
 Zarza
works also symbology repeatedly, where can be appreciable images
such as Bulls which, as he says, ''It`s a beautiful animal, representing
the Hispanic part of our culture, it never goes yoking and die fighting''
that is why, he uses it on his pictorial metaphors.
