Eduardo Muñoz Bachs (España, I937 - Cuba, 200I)

Eduardo Muñoz BachsDesigner, Drawer, Illustrator and Painter born in Valencia and settled in Cuba. Self- taught.

He started to work in publicity at the 50 decade until the year 1961, in which he made his first post-revolutionary cinematographic poster for the movie Historias de la Revolución. All his work is characterized by a personal style, soared in an expressive chromatism and humour.

The posting of Eduardo Muñoz Bachs represents the highest point of the Posters Cuban School , artistic movement that broke with the traditional rules of this graphic language.

Bachs obtained Prizes in Cannes and Hollywood; parting from the metaphor of his images, he strengthened his style creating remarkable symbols as the figure of Charlot and the Manual Calligraphy. The pictorial and editorial work of the most fruitful representer of the Cuban Cartel is equally important on the visual environment of the last five decades.
