Cosme Proenza   Graduated from National School of Plastic Arts of Cubanacán in 1973.

In his work, he reflects creations by remarkable masters from the universal painting with a detailed language of fables and allegories having a sensible precision and quality. His technique is very refined, expressing total coherence in his paintings, drawings and monumental works. His paintings coincides in style with the Fidelio Ponce and Antonia Eiriz's creations regarding to motifs and sensibilities.

Cosme can be placed within the generation of Cuban painters of the 70s.

He studied Monumental Painting at the former Soviet Union , where he took from the Orthodox tradition expressed on icons and obtained a Master Degree in Monumental Painting at Superior Institute of Fine Arts in Kiev, Ukraine. Important buildings at the eastern Holguín Province for the likes of Communications Ministry and Sol del Atlántico Hotel in Guardalavaca boast his monumental works on esgrafiado in concrete technique.

His artwork boasts great recognition and it is present on the collectors patrimony from Polony, Ukraine, Mexico, Russia, United States, Spain, Venezuela and Austria. He has made more than 25 solo exhibitions and has participated in more than 20 group ones.

Prize Lenin from the Superior Institute of Art in Kiev, Ukraine in 1983.
Prize of Painting at the V National Youth Saloon. National Museum of Fine Arts.
Prize from Culture Ministry for the conjunct of three Murals, 1991.
Special Prize from the Instituto Cubano Contemporáneo, 1995.
