The Guitar and the Friendship.

The admirers of the guitarist performance art of the Japanese musician Antonio Koga attended yesterday the concert that offered the great friend of Cuba in the theatre Auditorium Amadeo Roldán as opportunity to hear his music and also to appreciate his goodwill gesture to our country: the shipment of a lot of guitars destined to the Cuban artistic education. He sent it a few days before he arrived to Cuba at CUBADISCO 2007.
The formal delivery of the second donation took place in the Club of Correspondents of the Foreign Press in Tokyo, occasion in which the Ambassador of Cuba in Japan, Orlando Hernández Guillén, emphasized the multiple bonds of friendship that joined the both countries and the cultural ties and friendship of more than one decade with the Maestro Koga.
Koga feels that he has a commitment with the education of the Cuban music by its quality and extension, without mentioning its advantage, and evoked his cultural formation during the shortages of the post-war period. “First, I owe the guitar my life and then to be with Cuba”.
CUBADISCO awarded to him with a Prize of Honor in the edition of 2005. In 1995 he received the distinction by the National Culture; and besides he obtained the Medal by the Cuba-Japan Collaboration.
Antonio Koga is considered by the critic specialized as one of the best performer of guitar in the Asian continent. He has recorded more than two hundred discs.
