Orfeón Santiago, one of the major Cuban chorus, created on November 15, 1960 in Santiago de Cuba, highlights as an outstanding musical group within the island's cultural scene because of the cute Cuban taste of its repertoire.

Under master Electo Silva's leading since its foundation, Orfeón Santiago performs at public places, working centers and cultural institutions in Cuba and abroad.

Along its extense educative and concert labor, Orfeón Santiago has developed the milestone chorus' lines which has set the choral tradition at Santiago de Cuba city: the Orfeón Catalá and Orfeón Cuba, significantly influencing in the national chorus movement and establishing the tradition of National Festivals of Chorus.

Orfeón Santiago has been revered with different medals and recognitions from the Cuban State. International tours has taken them around Latin America and the Caribbean, Eastern-Europe countries, France and Spain, leading high-profile performances that has netted them specialized critic`s appraisal.
