Rhythm, drums sound, cornetas and claretines, are distinctive features of Carnival Music, accompaining the joy and dance of those who enjoy in this movement emotive expansions. Congas and comparsas are intense and fleeting like carnival lights. A leader voice improvises and the chorus follows it time after time, until the guide shows the end and the beginning again and again. Congas and Comparsas are anonymous, because their authors have been lost among the overwhelming crowd.
In our online shop you can find a wide representative mosaic of this contagious rhythm, pertaining to our Caribbean region. A good example of this is CD Fiesta Cubana: Congas y Comparsas, set approaching very popular songs very used at traditional comparsas dances like the famous Vienen regando flores, " Las Jardineras", by Miguel Valdés and Mírala que linda viene by Eliseo Grenet, among other treasures of great folkloric and traditional value.
Among other pieces of singular rhythmic richness are: Gran popurrit de congas y comparsas, performed by Coro Folklorico Nacional present at CD En un solar Habanero, via EGREM, winner in Discographic Notes category in Cubadisco 2001, Congas de ayer by Laito, Congas in Chano Pozo style or Ensalada de Congas Orientales performed by Sierra Maestra Group.
Cuban plastic, present in our online painting shop, also has color, rhythm and joy, synonyms of carnival, which are described in serigraph Fiesta Habanera.
