The National Prize of Plastic Arts, is the highest award created
by Cuban Culture Ministry and National Council of Plastic Arts to
praise the creators' merits in their artwork along their entire
life.
Nominees are chosen by Superior Institute of Art, Developing Center
of Visual Arts, Fondo Cubano de Bienes Culturales, Wifredo Lam Center,
National Fine Arts Museum, Fototeca de Cuba, Ludwing Foundation
of Cuba, Arts and Letters Faculty from Havana University, Writers
and Artists Union of Cuba and 14 Provincial Centers of Plastic Arts.
