The pictorial creation of Ernesto García Peña is boasting a singular mixture of solemnity and simpleness because behind of his pictorial elemental motifs there is something transcendental and hard to catch. Painter, drawer and engraver with a strong professional path, he has run through different topics, transforming erotism in his most known and perdurable theme, which is in fact boasting a particular excellence and tradition in the Cuban art. His symbols are well-defined: woman; bird; vulva-flower; fruit-sex; plants-sex; in a combination achieving a poetic tune. There is a stylization process, still when sex is present in a ludic sense, as a picaresque so liked by Cuban people.

Within the painting is present the strokes` energy in diverse roads, there is the skillness and lyrism with which his imagination creates from a blistered or scrambled spot diverse shapes: horses, feathered flowers, sex, thin silhouettes in tense movements and blowing large fifes, naked women bodies in morbid rest; birds of fugacious wings, peackocks strutting his feathers in a full bursting of arborescence and leaves rising up as a swirl which vertex is a adjured emptiness: flora, fauna and strength, color appears, less intense or aggressive but induced with shades in efficient fragility as a visual chant of a hidden world of beauty.
